I follow only agents and editors who specialize in literature for children, but much of their advice applies to all genres. Here are a few blogs and Twitter accounts that I’ve found useful.
- Jennifer DiChiara – http://twitter.com/4writers. I’ve never met Jennifer, but have great respect for her agency partner, Stephen Fraser. One to watch.
- Rachelle Gardener – http://cba-ramblings.blogspot.com/. Ms. Gardner goes to great lengths to explain the publishing industry in a nuts and bolts fashion. I wish I’d had this blog 3 years ago – would have saved me much confusion!
- Debbie Ridpath Ohi – http://twitter.com/inkyelbows. Debbie tweets to much that I can’t figure out how the woman gets her work done – but it’s great!
- Colleen Lindsay – http://twitter.com/ColleenLindsay. Agent and provocateur.
- Jane Friedman - http://twitter.com/JaneFriedman and http://www.janefriedman.com/. Publishing with Writer’s Digest.
- Upstart Crow - http://twitter.com/UpstartCrowLit. New literary agency.
- Sterling Editing – http://twitter.com/sterlingediting.
- Greg Pincus – http://twitter.com/gregpincus. Writer and all-round good tweeter. Twit. Whatever.
